I bought Breakin chains (2001)the other day, damn what a great
album! I grew up as a teenager in Sweden in the early 80′s
and was reading Guitar Player, Kerrang, but not Okej! Okej
was for wimps. I bought a Fender strata and began playing
with local bands. As a young guitarist, I read Mike
Varney’s reviews of new talented guitarists, MacAlpine,
Malmsten, etc.

But none of these bands had the ability to make really good
albums. A friend told me about Silver Mountain, listened to
”Shakin brains” in the record store, became obsessed. I
bought the long-awaited (for me) album ”Universe” and later
”Roses & champagne. Then there was silence, grunge and
general rock n roll crisis. 90′s, house, family and the
death of vinyl player brought me into the ”big sleep” …

Now I have woken up, my Fender is down from the attic and I
hope that Silver Mountain continues to deliver the best
heavy metal there is. Silver Mountain has many listeners
who believe that you never got the respect you deserve. You
were among the first and best neoclassic metal bands. As a
guitarist I am still amazed over Jonas Hansson’s technique,
he is absolutely outstanding!

Please, keep It up!
